How to Prioritize Tasks & Get More Done in Less Time
*Be sure to watch the video above if you are ready to create habits that stick once and for all!
Step 1
Firstly, look at the time you have available to work your business and not that time on a calendar or spreadsheet. Check out www.KathySchneider.com/4 for How to Use Google Calendar Effectively to Maximize Productivity.
Step 2
On paper, list out every task you do inside your business. Most will likely have sub-tasks… and listing those out, as well will be even more helpful!
Step 3
Categorize Your List for ‘departments’ inside your business. This includes things like content planning and creation, tracking analytics, working with customers, or whatever ‘departments’ you have in your business.
Step 4
Next make a note if the task must be done daily, weekly, every 2 weeks, monthly, quarterly, or yearly.
Step 5
Make note of how much time it takes to complete each task. Whether it takes you 5 minutes, 15 minutes, or 45 minutes. Track your time.
Step 6
Work in 45-minute time blocks. Set a timer when you sit down to work. After 45 minutes, stand up and step away from your computer (or phone, if working on your phone).
