How I Stay Months Ahead on YouTube

Stay ahead on YouTube content by batching one extra video each month and building margin into your workflow.
Hey there! Kathy here.

Most solopreneurs are not overwhelmed because they have too much to do.

They are overwhelmed because everything feels urgent all the time.

When your content is always due right now, your business starts running in constant pressure mode. That’s why one of the most important things you can build into your business is margin.

“Margin changes everything.” – Kathy Schneider

One of the biggest reasons content creation feels stressful is because many solopreneurs are creating this week’s content this week… or even worse, ‘today’s content’ today!

That means every deadline feels urgent.

Every interruption creates stress.

And when life happens (and it always will), consistency becomes difficult.

Instead of operating one week at a time, begin thinking in systems and workflows.

This is the simple shift that has helped me build breathing room.

Most months have four Mondays.

But I create five YouTube videos each month.

That means (most) every month, I move one video further ahead.

At first, that may not seem significant. But over time, one week ahead becomes one month ahead, and eventually several months ahead.

As I’m working on this blog post today, I’m 5 months ahead… this happened slowly, over time!

Batching is not just about saving time.

It is about reducing mental switching.

When you:

  • plan together
  • record together
  • schedule together
  • organize together

your brain stays focused on one type of task at a time.

That makes content creation feel lighter and more manageable.Inside each episode task, a repeatable checklist helps you move through the process step by step.

Systems matter because they keep you from rebuilding the process from scratch.

Your file organization, workflow, templates, recurring tasks, and scheduling process can all work together to support consistency.

When the system already exists, you simply follow the workflow.

This concept applies to far more than YouTube.

    You can build margin into:

    • newsletters
    • member emails
    • blog posts
    • recurring content
    • workflows
    • business systems

When you build margin intentionally, your business becomes much less stressful to manage.

You do not need to get five months ahead overnight. I certainly didn’t… it happened slowly, overtime.

That is not the goal… the goal is simply to create a little more breathing room over time.

    One extra video.
    One extra email.
    One extra week ahead.

    Small systems compound.

What if it became a priority to start building breathing room into my business?

The power of ‘one more’. If your plan is to publish a videos a month… then create 5. Key to work ahead is doing ‘one more’ than what is needed…

that little push (over time) will bring huge rewards for working ahead on your calendar!
