What are you currently doing as an entrepreneur and how long have you been involved with this particular endeavor and what inspired you to pursue it?
I help small businesses grow and market their business on social media, specifically Instagram. I started on Instagram in 2018 as a social seller and felt that no coaches who knew what they were doing cared about the success of small businesses. They wanted to help other coaches succeed.
Describe your typical daily routine, including your morning and evening habits? Are there any specific habits and/or routines that particularly contribute to your business success and your peace of mind within your busy schedule?
I start my day at 5am with coffee, feeding my cats, and Belgian Malinois, Eli. After engaging on Instagram, I take a 2-mile walk in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I then prepare for the day, reviewing my task list. At 9am, I post on social media, interact with followers, and start my daily tasks. In the evening, I enjoy a second 2-mile walk, followed by dinner and relaxation. My day ends with reading in bed by 9pm before sleep.
What are the top three sources that inspire you in your business journey, whether individuals, experiences, locations, etc?
I am inspired by Podcasts, other Instagram creators and books. I love to learn about marketing and social media so I can pass that knowledge on.
Are there any business tools or resources that you rely on to facilitate your day-to-today operations?
Oh where do I begin, or maybe the better question is where do I end!? LOL
Canva, Airtable, Slack, Calendly, Instagram, Tailwind, Metricool, my passion planner, Flodesk, Kajabi, Inshot, Capcut, and Google docs.
Throughout your journey as an entrepreneur, what are key lessons you have learned that have steered you to your current success?
Never stop learning, never stop caring about people. Social media marketing can be tough and lonely place if you do not create a support system around you. Your community becomes your co-workers, your support system, your encouragement, and your opportunities for advancement both on your topics and in your niche.
On challenging days, weeks, or months, have you ever contemplated giving up? If so, how do you gather your strength and remain resilient to continue to pursue your entrepreneurial journey?
I think every entrepreneur has wondered if it's all worth it. We go from working a 9-5 where at the end of the day we were done to working 5-9 and being that last point of contact in every aspect of our business. It is not always easy, but making a difference and transforming the lives of others makes it worth it. I believe human beings thrive on freedom. There is nothing more freeing than determining what you will do in your business and when.
To round off, let's bring in a few personal aspects. What's your definition of success? Do you have a personal mantra that you live by? Can you also share a recent or favorite book you read that provided you with new insights or perspectives?
My definition of success is a thriving community both online and in my program, where people around me feel empowered to do what they love and supported to do it.
Oh gosh, there are so many books, Story Brand was a truly eye-opening book for me and I listen to Jim Rohn audiobooks.
