What are you currently doing as an entrepreneur and how long have you been involved with this particular endeavor and what inspired you to pursue it?
I empower entrepreneurs over 50 to master social media and AI through easily digestible strategies, eliminating tech overwhelm. In 2018, I transitioned from a health coach to a tech mentor after realizing my passion for helping others streamline their sales automation process. A significant moment was assisting a tearful, ambitious woman struggling with technology in setting up her business. Since then, I've been dedicated to showing older entrepreneurs that they can conquer tech hurdles and establish successful online businesses.
Describe your typical daily routine, including your morning and evening habits? Are there any specific habits and/or routines that particularly contribute to your business success and your peace of mind within your busy schedule?
I start my day with a short walk with my dog, followed by gratitude journaling and daily reading for positivity. I then review my planner, set my intentions, and jot down my weekly affirmation. Deviation from this routine tends to disrupt my productivity, particularly as I live and work on the road.
What are the top three sources that inspire you in your business journey, whether individuals, experiences, locations, etc?
Kathy and Jordan significantly impacted my entrepreneurial journey as I transitioned from a routine job. My motivation spiked when told my earnings were excessive, prompting me to determine my own worth. In 2020, amidst COVID, my LinkedIn Agency's earnings plunged from five figures to nearly nothing overnight, coinciding with a family bereavement. I was disheartened by numerous “influencers” acting unethically, failing to teach vital skills for online business success.
Are there any business tools or resources that you rely on to facilitate your day-to-today operations?
I adore free tools that assist entrepreneurs in saving money. Top picks are ChatGPT, YouTube, and Google, which offer various resources like calendars, docs, and AI assistance. Moreover, I recommend ChatGPT's premium version, worth every bit of $20 for business owners who harness its utility. For establishing an online presence, BuilderAll provides a comprehensive, budget-friendly solution.
Throughout your journey as an entrepreneur, what are key lessons you have learned that have steered you to your current success?
Follow 1-2 people, maintain a Daily Method of Operation, trust your instincts, avoid unnecessary spending, and focus on completing tasks rather than piecing things together.
On challenging days, weeks, or months, have you ever contemplated giving up? If so, how do you gather your strength and remain resilient to continue to pursue your entrepreneurial journey?
YES — almost daily! It seems like when I feel this way I always hear something that I needed to hear at the exact right time. I listen to podcasts so I usually don't stay in that frame of mind for long.
To round off, let's bring in a few personal aspects. What's your definition of success? Do you have a personal mantra that you live by? Can you also share a recent or favorite book you read that provided you with new insights or perspectives?
Have the time to do all the things you want with who you want and be with the people you want without having to worry about time or money so you can make lasting memories. I have all that I need — use it!
When we downsized I had to make the rough decision to put all my books in storage – but my favorite book that I like to refer to and have the audio/digital book on The Magic of Thinking Big (David Schwartz I am pretty sure you recommended that one a few years ago) and Start with Why (Simon Sinek)
