What are you currently doing as an entrepreneur and how long have you been involved with this particular endeavor and what inspired you to pursue it?
I am an independent distributor with Mia Bella candles. I have been with Mia Bella for 10 years. I love the beautiful fragrance in my home and wanted my candles at wholesale.
Describe your typical daily routine, including your morning and evening habits? Are there any specific habits and/or routines that particularly contribute to your business success and your peace of mind within your busy schedule?
As a retiree, I tend to my Mia Bella business throughout the day, kicking off with animal care. My tasks include checking emails, social media updates, website work, and follow-ups. I enjoy outdoor work on my laptop, as being outside enhances my clarity and relaxation. Evenings find me with my husband, watching hummingbirds from our deck.
What are the top three sources that inspire you in your business journey, whether individuals, experiences, locations, etc?
I've drawn inspiration from numerous network marketing speakers and my annual company conventions. After an all-expenses-paid trip to Jamaica with my husband, my next goal is the Dominican Republic. Achieving Sapphire Director rank this year was empowering, emboldening me to aim higher. Despite the time it might take, there's nothing deterring me.
Are there any business tools or resources that you rely on to facilitate your day-to-today operations?
My email marketing system. I couldn't be without it. Thank you Kathy for helping me originally get set up with one! A system in place will make things so much easier for you and your business. Everything automated! Who doesn't need more time for other things with their business? It's a great time saver, keeps you organized, and an absolute necessity.
Throughout your journey as an entrepreneur, what are key lessons you have learned that have steered you to your current success?
Work smart not hard, understanding not everyone wants your product. Find like-minded people and mentor new distributors, providing encouragement without forcing their path. Treat your business seriously, invest time as if it's a regular job, and always be authentic.
On challenging days, weeks, or months, have you ever contemplated giving up? If so, how do you gather your strength and remain resilient to continue to pursue your entrepreneurial journey?
For the last 10 years, I never felt like giving up. I know what I can do and where I can go with my company. I am extremely passionate about what I do. Yes, I have had my slow times where I get frustrated and questioning myself, but I never felt like quitting during those times.
To round off, let's bring in a few personal aspects. What's your definition of success? Do you have a personal mantra that you live by? Can you also share a recent or favorite book you read that provided you with new insights or perspectives?
Success is the ability to reach the goals in your life, whatever those goals may be. There are 3 key elements to success: Clarity of Purpose, Growth Mindset, and Courage. My personal mantra is “I will have a good day, because it's my choice.” My all time favorite NWM trainer is Ray Hidgon. I love all his stuff! Favorite books that I have learned how to not only grow personally, but also gave me the courage I needed to step out of my comfort zone with my business. Books: Your First Year In Network Marketing by Mark Yarnell, Think and Grow Rich, How to win friends and influence people… another good one.
